Business Program Alumni Updates What do CSUDH graduates do once they’ve completed their business programs? As this collection of alumni updates suggests, they become entrepreneurs, work for Fortune 500 companies, and embark on a variety of other career paths. CharLee Anna DiBella (B.S. Business Administration, 2003) launched QuasiCo, a design, advertising, and marketing consulting firm shortly after receiving her degree from CSUDH. After building the business from the ground up, she manages four freelance designers and sales representatives and plans to incorporate the business next year. Rich Fimbres (B.A. Public Relations, 2000) recently finished his first year as an advertising account manager with Kiplinger’s Personal Finance magazine where he won new accounts with companies and organizations such as Land Rover and Tourism Australia. Prior to his work with Kiplinger’s, Fimbres was a senior media planner and buyer for Saatchi & Saatchi on the Toyota account for five years. John Guderian (MBA, 2002) works as a manager within DIRECTV’s Customer Retention and Loyalty division. He manages the relationship with Equifax Information Services, evaluating customers’ credit scores and setting appropriate spending limits and determining the risk level for their ability to continue to pay for their satellite television service. Benjamin Henriksen (MBA, 2004) has balanced interests in music, film, and business by serving as the legal and strategic advisor for the lead singer of Shu-Bi-Dua, a popular group in his native Denmark while garnering funds for an international feature film. He has also recently worked as an account manger for Kunde & Co., Denmark’s largest advertising agency.
Jeesue Kim
(MBA, 2005) assists in dealings with securities laws and articles of
incorporation and amendments as a legal assistant with First American
Mortgage Corporation. Michael Rouse (MBA, 1983) joined Toyota Motor Sales in 1981. He currently works as the corporate manager for Philanthropy and Community Affairs, overseeing the company’s community relations, internal and executive communications, and long-range planning administration, and all three of the Toyota’s national education programs, which deliver grants, scholarships and professional development programs for students and teachers across the country. His role in community work also extends beyond his post with Toyota – he serves on the board of trustees for several foundations and non-profits including the California Science Center, Stop Cancer, and the western area of the United Negro College Fund. Lisa Schwartz (B.A. Interdisciplinary Studies, 2001; MBA, 2004) works as a product marketing director for Oracle out of the company’s headquarters in Redwood City, California. In 2001 while pursuing her CSUDH degrees at night, Lisa founded a marketing and sales consulting business, www.technologyshoppingnetwork.com, that achieved national TV and magazine coverage presenting unique approaches to marketing technology to consumers. She also published three books on customer relationship management (CRM) while matriculating at CSUDH and is currently executing final edits on another that will be published by Prentice-Hall next spring. |
