Boeing Delivers $6,000 in CBAPP Scholarships With more than 50 percent of CSUDH’s students reliant on financial aid to make a college degree attainable, The Boeing Company pledged $6,000 in scholarships last month that will help CBAPP students do just that. The pledge will also benefit faculty and staff members in their research efforts.
Last year, CBAPP received $2,000 from Boeing designated for a student
who gradated from the Southern California International Business Academy
transferring from either Gardena or El Camino Community College. This
year, the number of awards has increased dramatically with the increase
in support. · Two $1,000 scholarships will be made available to graduates from the International Trade Academy at Banning High School enrolled in or enrolling in CBAPP. The student can be a transfer student from a community college or transferring directly to CSUDH. · One $1,000 scholarship will be made available to the CBAPP student selected to participate in the Millennium Momentum Foundation Internship/Mentoring program. · One $1,000 scholarship will be made available to a student who has graduated in good standing from the Cabrillo High School Finance Academy enrolled in or enrolling in CBAPP. The student can be a transfer student from a community college or transferring directly to CBAPP. · The final $2,000 will establish a Junior Faculty/Staff Research Support Fund, which will enable faculty and staff to attend technical assistance research workshops held by federal agencies who offer funding in CBAPP-related fields. These workshops are vital in promoting and establishing new cutting edge concentrations for CBAPP students with initial financial support from the federal government. The Boeing donation into this fund will be used to match the CSUDH Provost Research Opportunity Program. |
