Public Administration Celebrates Major Scholars
The 25th Annual Public Administration Honors Banquet was held on Sunday, April 17 at Ports O’ Call Restaurant in San Pedro, recognizing outstanding academic achievements for undergraduate and graduate students within the major.

Following a speech delivered by Anthony Butts, chief of the Long Beach Police Department, several professors helped honor those graduating within the major before a number of awards were given out. Twenty-nine students were inducted into the Pi Alpha Alpha Honors Society, and 25 graduating students received recognition for honors in major. Senior Octavio Villavencio was applauded for graduating Cum Laude. Seniors Laurie Anderson, Todd Gaynor, Enrique Iribe, and Emilio Salas were also recognized for graduating Magna Cum Laude. Senior Tracy Lloyd and graduate student Sudha Prakash received the Outstanding Student Awards, and Cynthia V. Menivar accepted the Abraam Krushkhov Memorial Scholarship.

The event was sponsored by the Public Administration Department, the CSUDH chapter of Pi Alpha Alpha and the Public Administration Alumni Society.
