New CSUDH Professor Publishes Book with Nobel Laureate
For professors, publishing with a Nobel Laureate is like working on a media merger with Rupert Murdoch or a real estate deal with Donald Trump. Tayyeb Shabbir, associate professor of finance, had such an opportunity developing and editing a scholarly book with Nobel Laureate Lawrence Klein while at the University of Pennsylvania before coming to CSUDH in the fall. Dheeriya Predicts Rash of Foreclosures
Nightly news reports and headlines across the country are full of new findings on a massive spike in the number of foreclosures in the housing market. Professor of Accounting and Finance
Prakash Dheeriya predicted just such a trend a few months ago in a "10 Questions" featured in the October 2006 issue of The Report. Read the story to find out what else he had to say about the next few years in the real estate market.

Newsmakers
Gus Martin, assistant vice president of faculty affairs and associate professor of public administration, was recently appointed to the International Editorial Advisory Board for the journal, Critical Studies on Terrorism, a research- and policy-driven journal directed to England, Australia, and the Americas.

Theresa Clark, financial manager, recently accepted a position with the City of Norwalk’s Division of Transportation as Manager of Strategic Planning/Administrative Services. Clark, who received both her undergraduate and M.B.A. degrees from CSUDH, served in her post as financial manager for more than three years, greatly improving CBAPP’s financial management.
