CBAPP Faculty Account for Half of University’s RSCAAP Awardees

CBAPP was well represented by three of the six CSUDH faculty members who received funding from the Research, Scholarship and Creative Activities Award Program (RSCAAP) to pursue research projects this semester. Selected CBAPP faculty members include Kimberly Perttula, assistant professor of management; Burhan Yavas, professor of quantitative methods; and Meng Zhao, assistant professor of marketing.

Perttula’s topic is titled, “Understanding the Empirical Implications of Passion for One’s Work.” Zhao will examine “Diffusion Processes in the Presence of Market Network Heterogeneity: An Agent-Based Modeling Approach,” and Yavas received approval for his proposal, “International Portfolio Diversification: A Study of Linkages among the U.S., European, and Japanese Equity Markets.”

The awards place the professors in a select group of faculty who are leading the research efforts for the university. Upon completion of their projects, they will submit a final report by the end of Summer 2005 and may participate in the university’s annual Forum on Research and Creative Expression, which showcases CSUDH’s faculty scholarship.
